Here at Life Resolutions, we know how important relationships are. However, navigating relationships isn’t always smooth sailing. Our team believes that communication is a crucial element to the success of any relationship. Communicating effectively is something that all couples can learn to do, with some knowledge, dedication and support. Our Couples Counselling can help couples resolve conflict and communicate constructively.
What is Couples Counselling?
Couples Counselling can also provide conflict mediation to help you navigate through conflict. Our experienced team of professionals can provide you with the tools to manage conflict, resolve disputes, and create a long-lasting and happy relationship.
How to Improve Communication in Your Relationship:
- Listen – active listening and empathetic listening are great skills to help improve your communication. Listening to your partner is the first step to better communication. When your partner is talking try to listen to understand, not just listen to respond.
- Honesty – being open and honest is easier said than done. However, avoiding talking about how you feel can cause distrust and long-term issues in your relationship.
- Be Respectful– in a relationship, it is important to show that you respect your partner and their emotions. It is okay to express that you are feeling angry, however, that anger should not dictate the way we communicate.
- Seek support when necessary – sometimes, another perspective is needed. A professional communication coach can help you understand why arguments are happening and assist you in resolving them.
If you and your partner are experiencing difficulties or would just like to learn some more communication skills, Couples Counsellings can help you. The Life Resolutions team are experienced and compassionate professionals and would love to help you and your partner.
